TL;DR: Our Buddy Program supports new hires and those transitioning into new roles within Endeavor. A buddy is a trusted colleague who has been there and can help colleagues navigate their first days, share insights, and ensure they're not figuring it all out alone. Everyone can get a buddy or be a buddy - #OneEndeavor

Starting a new job, even when an internal move, feels like being a college freshman all over again. You know you’re going to learn a lot, you know you’ll make friends eventually, and you know this will prepare you for even greater things in the future. It’s exciting, but also disorienting and can be overwhelming.

The Buddy Program is designed to ease that transition by pairing new hires and those transitioning to new roles with a colleague from another office who can help them navigate the challenges ahead.

This page outlines how to ask for a buddy, how to volunteer to be one, and a few tips on how to get you started.

🤝🏼Expectations

The Buddy Program is meant to be low-lift but very meaningful.

We suggest buddies have a Zoom call once per quarter for the first year, with quick Slack check-ins in between to stay connected. Some of our buddies have even connected on work trips and gone out for lunch together.

And remember: 💥 It’s up to you and your Buddy to set up your first and future chats!

📬 What if I need to Pause or Stop being a Buddy?

No problem at all! Just let Natassja Ruybal ([email protected]) know. We understand life can get busy, or you might even want to explore a new buddy. Just reach out! 🚀

🛠️ Toolkit for Buddies

There’s no formal structure beyond creating a friendly, approachable space to have your go-to person who you can ask questions to, ask for feedback, share best practices, and feel part of the #OneEndeavor team. That said, here are a few tools to help make building that relationship even easier:

🗣️ First Hand Testimonials

Sanjay Thapa 🌐 Global - Salesforce Lead Manager 🎙️ “Having a buddy from a local office when I first joined ensured I felt the #OneEndeavor energy and love early on, which helped me be at ease in feeling comfortable to reach out and connect with staff members worldwide from the start!”

Ellen Ryall 🇮🇪 Ireland - EX Manager 🎙️ “I really enjoyed having a buddy when I first joined Endeavor, it was a great way to learn about the ins and outs of the wider global organisation and also to build a connection with another local office. It’s helpful to have someone outside of your team to give you a fresh perspective on ideas and initiatives and share best practices from their own office and experience.”
