One of the biggest challenges of maintaining clean data on our network is having it scattered within multiple records. Luckily, Salesforce has a tool to help us mange records better! Duplicate Rules in Salesforce help identify & merge existing duplicate records and prevent future duplicates from being created! Any time you see a duplicate warning on a record page, you can merge and clean up the data!

General

• You must be the Local Owner of each of the records you select to merge.
• The Master Record should be the one with the most up-to-date information.
• If a record is owned by another Endeavor Office, please connect with that office's Local Owner to determine if the record can me merged. If owned by global, please contact @Sanjay Thapa.

When merging Contacts

• If the duplicate contact records you merge have related Meeting records tied to them, those meeting attendee records will be deleted.
• To ensure you don't lose that data, click into your “Recycle Bin” tab and restore the Meeting Attendee records that were just deleted or please Slack Sanjay or Samantha with the Master Record's URL and we can recover the records for you! :)

Exceptions for Duplicates

• If you are creating an Account Record for an International Corporate with regional offices (like JP Morgan), please remember to input the ‘Endeavor Global Owned’ record of the company in the “Parent Account” field.
